Obama May Have Just Lost the Democratic National Convention!

If Hillary Clinton wanted to steal the DNC convention next week in Denver, it has just been handed to her on a silver platter.

In a election cycle that by all indications was to be a Democratic cake walk, Barack Obama goes out and picks Joe Biden as his Vice Presidential running mate. His selection drives a stake threw the heart of all his impressionable left wing "We Want Change" followers. Joe Biden has been in the Washington DC establishment since the 1970's. Biden's son is a lobbyist on K Street for crying out loud. Some "real change" here! Can you hear the jingle jangle of PAC and ear mark money?

Joe Biden dropped out of the Democratic Presidential race after three contests where he gathered a whopping following of less then 10,000 votes. Compare that to Hillary who was destroyed by a very sexist and race baiting Obama/Axelrod attack team and still managed to win 18 million votes. If Democrat delegates really want to win the White House, they need to change their pledged votes and give Hillary the nomination.

Joe Biden will be the gift that will keep on giving to the McCain campaign. Biden's own words about Obama's lack of experience and needing on the job training will sink any chance Obama had of winning. As I have repeatedly said, Obama is a fraud and a rank amateur. He is a "old style" Chicago politician wrapped up in a slick Madison Avenue ad campaign. As the real Obama has been outed, his numbers in the polls have taken a nose dive. Good luck Barack in Denver! "You go Hillary - You go girl!" 

Victory Signs a Big Hit!

Yesterday we gave away 1,875 of the initial order of 2,000 "Victory Over Terrorism" signs. Again, I want to thank the Minnesota American Legion, the Minnesota Disabled American Veterans, and all those who volunteered their time and their support in making this initial printing and distribution possible. I would also like to thank Stephano's Restaurant, and the many members of Families United, Minnesota Vets for Freedom and the Minnesota Blue Star Mom's who stopped yesterday to get a sign or two.

The donations by those who picked up signs were extremely generous. We are going back to the printer to purchase an additional 3,000 signs for distribution before and on September 1, 2008 in Saint Paul.

Your support has guaranteed that when the anti-war, anti-military, anti-capitalism & anti-America crowd marches on the Excel Energy Center during the Republican National Convention, they will face thousands of patriotic American's holding the "Victory" signs and showing their support for our brave men and women in service to our nation.

Al-Qaeda on the Run in Iraq

Buried deep in many newspapers today is the revelation that leaders of Al-Qaeda in Iraq have decided to flee to Afghanistan while the getting was good. Intelligence gathered from captured Al-Qaeda leaders indicate that there is a potential shift in priority as to where the main Al-Qaeda effort will be fought, Iraq vs Afghanistan. Seems too many of their terrorist buddies have been meeting untimely deaths or have been captured by the new Iraqi Army and our Coalition Forces. So some have fled into Iran on their way to Afghanistan.

Now surprise here, our soldiers in Iraq have been saying it for months now. The main stream media finally has been forced to report that the "surge" has worked. Iraqi's have more security, far less sectarian violence, their economy is beginning to flourish and Iraqi security forces have proven their ability to protect their people. Too bad that Barack Obama just can't bring himself to admitting it, but he's afraid of the spanking he would get from MoveOn.org, Code Pink and the Daily Kos folks. Now that's "change & leadership" for you!

Iraq became the major focus of Al-Qaeda's efforts to confront the United States when in 2003, Al-Qaeda's leader Osama bin-Ladin declared he would defeat the US in Iraq. Since then Al-Qaeda in Iraq, a Sunni based insurgency, has met with set back after set back as the Iraqi Government and Army has grown. The Iraqi Army has nearly 200 battalions in the fight and has greatly increased local security through the Sons of Iraq (SOI) program. The SOI program has grown to over 100,000 strong. It was only after the increase in US troops with the commitment of "the surge" that Sunni Sheiks came forward to commit to fighting Al-Qaeda. Now, US casualties are at their lowest point since the start of the war in March 2003.

We are winning. Now let our soldiers finish the job!

Finish the Job - The Surge has Worked!

A good friend of mine and a fellow member of Minnesota Vets for Freedom, Jason Meszaros has a great Opinion piece in todays Saint Paul Pioneer Press (here) on the importance of winning in Iraq. Jason served in OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom) in Afghanistan in 2004.

Jason is right on when he says our mission in Iraq is not about partisan politics. I agree with Jason when he says must establish free, democratic, secure and stable nations in both Iraq and Afghanistan to defeat Al-Qaeda and win the global war on terror.

Our change in tactics "the Surge" is working and the main stream media has acknowledge that fact. For any politician to say differently is wrong and blatantly partisan.

Statement about Obama's Ignoring our Wounded Warriors!

Barack Obama had scheduled a visit with wounded American troops who have served with honor and distinction in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but he broke that commitment, instead flitting from one European capital to the next. Several explanations were offered, none was convincing and each was at odds with the statements of American military leaders in Germany and Washington. For a young man so apt at playing president, Barack Obama badly misjudged the important demands of the office he seeks. Visits with world leaders and speeches to cheering Europeans shouldn’t be a substitute for comforting injured American heroes.” Joe Repya, Lieutenant Colonel, US Army (Retired)

UPDATE #2: WOW! I must have hit a nerve with the Obama Kool Aid drinking crowd. The hate mail has been flowing in non stop. Unfortunately, the only insults they seem to be capable of throwing is a misspelled word or two on a previous blog posting. Even the journalists at the New York Times have the same problem. Check out how the NYT's political writer spelled lieutenant (here). At the end of the day the fact remains the same, Obama made a major political mistake by not visiting our wounded. Is Barack Obama This Centuries Neville Chamberlain?

After listening to Barack Obama's news conference from Jordan today I must ask the question: Is Barack Obama this Centuries Neville Chamberlain? Complete with two hundred adoring journalists in tow, he has demonstrated his complete lack of national security and military tactical judgment about the "surge," about our troops and our enemies in the region much like Chamberlain in 1940.

What an insult to the brave men and women, their families and our country to state that the "surge" has worked but he would still oppose it today. The sacrifices made by these soldiers and their families demand an immediate apology. With his statement, how can any general in the field feel comfortable about this mans ability to process real world problems?

In my opinion, Obama does not want victory in Iraq or the War on Terror. He has opposed the war simply for the purpose of using it as a campaign issue against George Bush and now John McCain. Unlike John McCain, who has stated many times he would rather lose the election then lose the war, Obama simply wants to win the election.

The flawed judgment of Obama, his arrogance and his radical left wing voting record should warn every American as to the real person behind the mask that is Barack Obama. Peel back the mask and you have an individual who is incapable of free thinking or communicating without a teleprompter. What is at stake for the world and the USA is far too important then what this snake oil salesman is peddling with the help of the main stream media!

Barack Obama's Magical Mystery Tour Begins!

Barack Obama's "Magical Mystery Tour" began today with the help and support of the main stream media (msm). With msm news anchors Katie Couric (CBS), Charlie Gibson (ABC), and Brian Williams (NBC) in tow, Obama is off on campaign stops in Europe, Israel, Iraq & Afghanistan on the agenda.

Once described as a fact finding tour so that Barack Obama could form his "national security plan," has now turned into a world wide rock concert event. It's really hard to formulate a national security plan when you have already stated what you plan to do without giving your generals in the field any opportunity to discuss options and strategy before hand. I guess when you are soooooooo smart, you don't need advise or consult from military experts!

I don't begrudge the msm an opportunity for tagging along. After all, it is news and anyway most of America understands the msm is solidly behind Barack Obama. They did orchestrate his win over Hillary Clinton in the primaries. So why would they even try to give the appearance of fairness and balance by their anchors traveling with John McCain. Their action has a double edged sword risk attached to it. Since Obama is a naive rank amateur on national security and military issues, if he screws up, someone is bound to have video footage. You won't see it on the evening msm news, but it will show up on U-Tube.

Our military leaders will be very respectful and give great updates on the war on terror at all stops. However, you can imagine that a few military eyes will roll when no one is looking. It make one wonder why stop and visit the military at all if you have already decided on "defeat and retreat."

Two other interesting notes: First Barack's wife stayed at home and did not accompany him and the 200+ media people. Second, the itinerary does not include a stop to visit Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Perhaps Michelle Obama is getting more training on how to speak in public without hurting her husband's already fragile campaign? Maybe, Mahmoud and Barack have scheduled a coffee break at "Starbucks" in New York City when Ahmadinejad next visits the United Nations?

I can't wait to see the press in their "I Survived Barack Obama's Magical Mystery Tour" t-shirts. A real collectors item I'm sure!

Barack Obama & General Wes Clark Have No Shame!

My friend Ed Morrissey at Hot Air has a great post (here) on General Wes Clark's attack on John McCain's military record while on Face the Nation yesterday.

Barack Obama and the National Democratic Party should immediately denounce and dismiss General Clack from any future campaigning in this election year, but he and the Democrats will not! As Ed Morrissey points out, this is a planned attack on John McCain's character.

The Obama Campaign, using their surrogates, have attacked McCain's age, mental state, bravery and honesty. Is this the "change" that everyone wants in Washington? A ambitious young politician bent on personal destruction of an opponents record and accomplishments? How dare Obama and his minions attack the military record of John McCain. Where and when did Obama serve? What sacrifice has he or his family made on the battlefield? Unlike John Kerry, where are those who served with McCain in combat claiming anything other then his honorable selfless service?

It is time for America to stand up and denounce the tactics of the "New Democratic Party" under the leadership of MoveOn.org. Barack Obama doesn't hold a candle to John McCain when it comes to national security and military matters. To elect Barack Obama would, in my opinion, weaken this country at open us to further terrorist attacks.

Listen people, I have met General Wes Clark and I can tell you he is no General David Petraeus anymore then Barack Obama is the quality of John McCain!

Saint Paul, Minnesota for the Taking!

There are groups that are planning to take Saint Paul by storm this September during the Republican National Convention. It appears that Mayor Chris Coleman is welcoming them with open arms. Don't you love the "Convention Goers and Protesters Welcome" signs that are going up?

Don't you wonder who is going to foot the cost of damage and clean up after this mob of anti-war, anti-Bush, anti-capitalism, & anti-Republicans leaves our fine city?

Someone better wake up and smell the Kool-Aid! Some of these groups wont be happy unless they see some or all of Saint Paul in flames. Word has it that Saint Paul's Finest are very concerned that the liberal politicians in Saint Paul "just don't get it."
